Well the great news is we checked out of our Aire this morning and were charged 5.5 €. Bargain!!! Made our way from Fecamp to the Normandy beaches and en-route encountered the town of Pont-l’eveque. What an interesting place this is! It has the most beautiful Roman Catholic Cathedral that was decimated during WW2. How it survived is a miracle and when you enter the place and see the replacement stained glass windows you realise the impact but you also see how resilient the world is against oppression and invasion. I hope the pictures I share here show you a little of what we encountered. We found there was a market open in town and made our way to the fromage stall and found some wicked cheeses. One of which is produced exclusively in the town. A soft cheese a bit like Camembert but a bit more of a zing to it.

An

other hard cheese which is equally delicious but I’ve no idea of the name. Now I know there are some Moho homies out there who are watching here and I wanted to give you the heads up for travelling this time of year. Very little Aire or Campsites are open with facilities so it is a case of ’Wild Camping’ most of the time, so make sure you and, more importantly, your moho is up to speed there. Thankfully ours is, so no worries. What can be a little worrying is the fact that some Aires books show sites open all year - when you rock up, they are not. Happened to us today so we are in a little sheltered lay-by with a pay on demand fresh water outlet - pay as you go kind of thing - and it’s not working! Hey ho. We can settle here for the night and hope for better luck tomorrow.
