Moving on towards Perpignan

There’s a strange and warming breeze that comes from Spain occasionally from the Pyrenees - I talked about it in an earlier blog. We had another good night but during it, every so often, would come this climbing crescendo of breeze - really strong at times. Like a train coming from a distance and arriving on the platform. Then it would go completely still. We found out this morning that it was the ‘warm breeze’. Now the lady who runs the site did tell Alan what this breeze was called - but by around 11 o’clock this morning, we’d both forgotten what it was - I think it’s called getting older 😂 (please note, I replaced the word ‘wind’ for ’breeze’ as it seemed to me hysterically funny to read and sounded that we’d been eating too many baked beans ............

Anyway, we headed for Foix as a stop off for our ultimate destination of Perpignan. We’ve been given the heads up of a nice site there which is free of charge on a winery as long as you buy some stock from the growers. Sounds like a deal to us! We arrived at the site in the centre of Foix but decided to move on once we had done a detour of the town. There’s a pretty epic castle there so we took a few pictures for the social media sites. We ate lunch in the van before we set off for another site at Montferrier just outside of Lavelanet. Very quiet free of charge area - a little family of five just behind us in their very old Moho. Adorable little girl amongst them - they are however very keen to play with their ball - so Tom is confined to the lead while they are playing - otherwise their ball would confiscated permanently by our boy! Having said how warm in was this morning, the sky clouded over but we had no rain which is a bonus. As we made our way back to St Girons to find the road we needed to Foix, we took a road unintentionally and it was a cracker - took us through three tunnels in total and it was all one way which made it a really fun drive.

Not a terribly busy day - quite a relaxing drive - so thinking we will make our way to Perpignan tomorrow if we don’t get sidetracked tomorrow. Nighty night
