Wall to wall sunshine - and a very big lunch

Oh we slept so very well. No noise, no gale force winds, just woke up to a bucket full of sunshine and a very good day. Had brekkie and took Tom on my beach - I have declared ownership of this beach as it is so gorgeous - and we had a wonderful walk and stick throwing competition. The competition being that dear Tom can’t see so well these days, so he waits patiently for me to throw it, but unless he is on point, he can’t see where it went. This then involves me walking to said stick, picking it up and trying again. We get there in the end. Whichever way you cut it, it’s fun and gets your lungs full of lovely fresh air. It was really hot in the sun but, as I may have mentioned once or twice before, it’s cold out of it. Decided to take the van over to the local petrol station where the area is all kitted out for emptying the grey waste, loo and stock up the fresh water tank. Then a quick stock up on items for the fridge on which were running low. Got back to our site and we had lost our spot so found another. We happened to park next to a big French van and I noticed yesterday what I thought was a cat in the front of their van; as

it disappeared so quickly I wasn’t sure I believed my eyes. When we got up this morning right outside our door was the most adorable little dog, a little cavapoo I believe it is. She just rolls over for you to tickle her tummy. She doesn’t wander away from the van which houses what I believe is a cat but more on that later. We decided to walk across the beach and around the headland to find a nice spot for lunch. We found a very nice tapas bar and enjoyed a super lunch washed down with a glass of beer. Yummy. On the way back, we decided an ice cream would be in order. Off my lovely went and brought us back ice creams which were lovely but they were served in a white chocolate coated waffle cone which had been rolled in toasted hazelnuts. Oh my - it was lovely to eat, but it sat a bit heavy for the rest of the afternoon - good job we don’t eat like that every day. The walk back was so beautiful, and a lot more people about as it is a Sunday and it is Spain, so plenty of folk around. This is a beautiful place. Clean and feels like a place you could stay for a long time. Alan’s family came here back when he was 18 camping and so when we rang Alan’s Mum (Jill) today to chat to her about it, she recalled going to the Travel Agent in those days and you would get a brochure. They recommended this area for camping and, as Jill reminded me this afternoon, the Costa Brava was the first place British tourists visited as people began to seek holidays outside of the UK. Interesting stuff. We got back to the van and it was very hot inside so we cooled everything down before having a cuppa and head back to the beach to watch the sun go down tonight. The sky was so red - it was difficult to capture on camera actually but I did try. As we returned to our van Alan said to me to look up in the tree beside our van and there looking down at me was the very cat I thought I had spotted in the French van. It was and the owner was letting it climb the tree for a spot of exercise. So sweet - the cat is just a year old and reminded me so much of a cat I had donkeys years ago called Pebbles. Quite a day - very relaxing and so lovely to have some sun on our bones. L’estartit beckons tomorrow, so we shall see what tomorrow brings. Nighty night
